Sovereign refers to God’s supremacy in all matters of life. All things are under His rule and control, and nothing happens without His direction or permission. God works all things after the counsel of His own perfect will for His own glory (Ephesians 1:11, 12), which includes the salvation of men (Ephesians 1:1-14).

Grace is theologically defined as an attribute and act of God’s sovereign gifts to us which include life, goods, and most of all, redemption that is apart from any of our meritorious works (Ephesians 2:1-9). Some will simply say it is receiving from God what we do not deserve. Grace is truly amazing because it is by God's grace that we're even here. At this church you’ll find that the doctrines of grace are the common thread that runs through every ministry and expression of worship here.

Bible is the foundation of our faith and living. Although God has revealed himself to us through natural revelation, he has given us the superior means. Scripture alone is the source of truth concerning the character of God, the nature of man, the way to salvation, and the hope of heaven (2 Timothy 3:10-17). Hence the focus of each worship service, Sunday school class, and Bible study is to learn and dispense God's matchless Word. We do that because we strive to be a church that has a high view of God. And because we have a high view of God, we have a high view of His Word, the Bible.

While names like “Sovereign” and "Grace" and "Bible" is our choice in defining who we are, "Church" is defined by God alone – as revealed in His Word. Exegetically, the word church or ekklesia in Greek means “the ones that are called out.” According to Scripture, the assembly of Christians or the group of Christians (i.e. the church) is those who have been called out of darkness by the power of God into the light of His kingdom. We have been effectually drawn by the Holy Spirit into meaningful fellowship with Christ and with one another. We are a church, a group of people that God sovereignly called out to himself.

Sovereign Grace Bible Church – this is our name.  But it is more than a mere name. We are a congregation who have been saved by God’s sovereign grace, transformed by His word, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We exist to glorify God by exalting the supremacy of Christ, equipping and edifying the saints of Christ, and evangelizing the sinners that are without Christ.
